you can update easily with git and corebos updater: git pull, go to coreBOS updater: load and apply all
please make backups of database and code and test the upgrade on a copy first, make sure not only that the upgrade works but that all the normal work loads that you usually do are working as expected.
I suppose you mean some sort of a preview of the image and I suppose you are asking because it isn't shown, you have to download it. In the latest version of corebos, if it is an image a thumbnail is shown
