Yes, you can do that with this extension:
http://corebos.org/documentation/doku.php?id=en:extensions:extensions:cbcolorizer
which will also permit you to color different cells and rows.
and also with the "Field_Dependencies" branch available on github. The code in that branch needs my validation but I haven't been able to get to it yet.
