Reducing data entry. |

As a general design and implementation principle it seems to me that the less data entry a user needs to do, the better. Much better.
If an interaction can be reduced to a button or a picklist, or got rid of entirely, all the better. Generally, users don't want to enter data.
In this regard, to start off:
- having to enter a 'subject', each time for a quote, sales order, and invoice is tedious for users... They will often duplicate what they entered at a previous stage. They struggle to think of a new subject each time. They don't see the point.
Once an 'opportunity name' is entered, can this become the 'subject' of subsequent quotes, sales, orders and invoices that follow from that opportunity?
I realise that 'subject' is probably a primary database key. However, that is not the user's problem etc.
(Perhaps it could be auto-generated on save from opportunity name plus status or similar.)

Map field from opportunities to invoices |

Hi there.
Using ‘Opportunity No.’ as the main project number / reference.
I need to include it in an invoice, but I am having difficulty bringing it into the invoice module.
I think I remember doing something similar before in the editviewutils.php file by manipulating the getConvertQuoteToInvoice function.
But, here the field I need is in the opportunities / potential module, and only the opportunity name is brought into quotes / salesorders module.
Can anyone advise where I should be looking please?
PS Has anyone done up a logout button yet? Also, should 'fieldexpressions' now be used over workflow? What is the thinking behind this? Just started working with CoreBOS. Look forward to contributing.

You should use only one platform for everything involving improvements/development to corebos, namely this forum. I see that you also have Linkedin and Google+. In my opinion you should only use those as promotional tools and not development tools. Redirecting people to post here instead would give more life to this forum. I don't know if you noticed but I've posted nearly as mush as you and there is only a few active users here.

May I suggest that the forum communications (specially those from the admins) remains in one language, English. I personnaly have no problem reading Spanish, but it might not be the case for others visiting here. Same goes for the ticket systems.
Cheers.

coreBos Logo |

Do you need some help in working different sizes and formats of Corebos logo? Don't mean to be rude but the logo in this forum with the white semi-transparent background doesn't look very sexy!
I could even propose a slightly reworked one if that was of interest.
