I can made a change into field tam size directly in database?

ok thank you I understood this part

I did not understand why the system did not set this value, by default ..., or does not allow to define this in the layout editor (suggestion, I know this is inheritance from vtiger ...)

validation maps are much more powerful, there is no need to add anything there

Create a validation map for each field?

I agree with you is more powerful but is lot of work, create a bp for each field ....

for each field? isn't just one map with as many fields as you need to specify (which are not all)?

ok, but this way, sounds strange for me ...

Because, I use a layout editor to created a field, type, mandatory, etc but not possible to check the size
For that I should created a validation map ( ok, not is a big problem )

In my install, I has more than 200 custom field, in all modules ...

If i will created a business map ( unique ) probably is to greater and not simple to do that, ( xml is a good tools, but only 1 wrong character tuned all code no effect .. )

Perhaps, at actual moment, is a transition, from older way to did things, to do the new way ...
