Hello all,
How can I create a workflow to send an email to group once a Lead is created and assigned to a group?

In the email workflow template, you have a picklist next to each input. These picklists contain the available emails you can send the email to. In that list, you will see an option to select the groups. If a group is selected all the members in the group will get the email.
If you select "Assigned User Email" and that record is assigned to a group, all the members in the group will get the email.
So, in short: just send the email to the assigned user
